Summary
Despite this being one of the nicer double radio relic systems it has been studied very little, likely due to its recent discovery by van Weeren et al. (2011). Using WSRT and GMRT radio observations they find that the relic spectra are consistent with diffusive shock acceleration and suggest Mach numbers of ~2 for each of the relics. Kang et al. (2012) find that their simulations of ZwCL 0008.8 are consistent with a Mach number of ~2. van Weeren et al. (2011) also find weak evidence that the relics have a polarization of 5-25%, but they note that further observations are needed to better map the polarization properties. They were the first to estimate the redshift of the system (z=0.103) by obtaining a spectrum of the BCG, we have since confirmed this redshift with hundreds of DEIMOS spectra.
